मर्माणि मांससिरास्नाय्वस्थिसन्धिसन्निपाताः; तेषु स्वभावत एव विशेषेण प्राणास्तिष्ठन्ति; तस्मान्मर्मस्वभिहतास्तांस्तान् भावानापद्यन्ते ॥१५॥
The vital points are made up of flesh, sinews, nerves, bones, and joints; within them, the life force naturally resides. Thus, when these vital points are struck, the respective conditions manifest.

मर्माणि मांस, सिरा, स्नायु, अस्थि, संधि तथा विभिन्न अवस्थाओं से निर्मित होते हैं; इनमें स्वाभाविक रूप से प्राण निवास करते हैं। इसलिए, जब ये मर्म घायल होते हैं, तो उनके अनुसार भाव प्रकट होते हैं।
