The preponderance of sexual activity or excessive celibacy, along with conditions such as prolonged menstrual cycles, long hair, rough or mixed hair types, and narrow or wide vaginal openings can lead to various disturbances. If a woman has unpleasant or impure characteristics, such as a narrow or wide passage, excessive hair, or a naturally foul disposition, and is subjected to unclean practices, she may cause an imbalance in the doshas, leading to conditions like Upadansha. Other contributing factors include excessive thrusting, improper handling, or intense physical activity, which can provoke the doshas and result in pain or swelling, thus leading to the condition termed Upadansha.
