या तु विरेचने गुदपरिकर्तिका तद्वमने कण्ठक्षणनं, यदधः परिस्रवणं स ऊर्ध्वभागे श्लेष्मप्रसेकः, या त्वधः प्रवाहिका सा तूर्ध्वं शुष्कोद्गारा इति ॥२१॥

The cutting pain in the anus in connection with purging corresponds to the digging in the throat in a case of vomiting. The oozing out of the fecal matter downward (Parisrava) in connection with a purgative corresponds to the water-brash in the case of an emetic. What diarrhea (Pravahika) is to purging, a dry eructation is to vomiting.

मलत्याग के दौरान गुदा में होने वाला कटने वाला दर्द उल्टी के मामले में गले में होने वाले छेद के समान होता है। मलत्याग के दौरान मल का नीचे की ओर बहना (परिश्रवा) उल्टी के मामले में होने वाले पानी के समान होता है। जो दस्त (प्रवाहिका) मलत्याग के लिए है, वही सूखी डकार उल्टी के लिए है।
