A body that has been properly oiled and sweated, when subjected to minimal medicine with low potency, can still provoke doshas and lead to a loss of strength. In such cases, symptoms like abdominal distension, heart pain, thirst, fainting, and burning sensations arise, referred to as yogic disorders. To treat these, one should quickly apply purgatives using bitter herbs mixed with Madana fruit and salt. In the case of excessive doshas affecting the body, symptoms like itching, fever, and pain occur, and the remaining doshas should be eliminated with potent medicine. For a person with oily warmth who suffers from dryness and has a hard, full abdomen, symptoms like pain from vāta, stool retention, or the appearance of lumps may manifest. In this situation, one should apply oil again and use a sharp purgative. If the doshas are not very active or not excessively harmful, one should drink warm water to stimulate them. Sweating the sides and abdomen will help initiate the movement of doshas. If there is a minimal dosha presence, one should consider the old medicine, the strength of many doshas, and adjust the dosage accordingly. For a person whose doshas have not been resolved for ten nights and whose body has been thoroughly cleaned, one should again purify through oil and warmth. In the case of difficult purgation, oil should be applied again and purged. Generally, women who are driven by fear, shame, and greed, as well as traders and scholars near royal circles, tend to have difficult purgations due to their predominance of vāta; hence, these individuals should be cleansed with warm and oily methods.
