sanskrit

For a patient suffering from splenic disorders, while they are nourished and sweating, one should inject a needle from the inside of the left arm towards the spleen and massage with the hand to ensure the flow of blood. After this, give the patient a drink made of purified body, sea-shell ash, and milk; or hing (asafoetida) and souvarcala (a type of resin) mixed with milk, or ash from the flame of palasa trees mixed with water, or ash from kindling with water. Alternatively, use the ash from the king of flowers (parijata) mixed with sugarcane, or oil mixed with a preparation of black salt, and the mixture of pippali, rock salt, and chitraka. Or use sour fluid from putika, or a strong concoction of pippali mixed with the root of vidalvana.
