ब्राह्मणी वीक्ष्य दिधिषुं पुरुषादेन भक्षितम् । शोचन्त्यात्मानमुर्वीशमशपत्कुपिता सती ।। ९-९-३४ ।।

sanskrit

When the chaste wife of the brāhmaṇa saw that her husband, who was about to discharge semen, had been eaten by the man-eater, she was overwhelmed with grief and lamentation. Thus she angrily cursed the King. ।। 9-9-34 ।।

english translation

जब ब्राह्मण की सती पत्नी ने देखा कि उसका पति, जो गर्भाधान के लिए उद्यत ही था, उस मनुष्यभक्षक द्वारा खा लिया गया तो वह शोक तथा विलाप से अत्यधिक सन्तप्त हो उठी। इस तरह उसने क्रोध में आकर राजा को शाप दे दिया। ।। ९-९-३४ ।।
