कस्यचित्त्वथ कालस्य नासत्यावाश्रमागतौ । तौ पूजयित्वा प्रोवाच वयो मे दत्तमीश्वरौ ॥ ९-३-११ ॥
Thereafter, some time having passed, the Aśvinī-kumāra brothers, the heavenly physicians, happened to come to Cyavana Muni’s āśrama. After offering them respectful obeisances, Cyavana Muni requested them to give him youthful life, for they were able to do so. ॥ 9-3-11 ॥

कुछ काल बीतने के बाद दोनों अश्विनीकुमार जो स्वर्गलोक के वैद्य थे, च्यवन मुनि के आश्रम आये। उनका सत्कार करने के बाद च्यवन मुनि ने उनसे यौवन प्रदान करने के लिए प्रार्थना की क्योंकि वे ऐसा करने में सक्षम थे। ॥ ९-३-११ ॥

ग्रहं ग्रहीष्ये सोमस्य यज्ञे वामप्यसोमपोः । क्रियतां मे वयोरूपं प्रमदानां यदीप्सितम् ॥ ९-३-१२ ॥
Cyavana Muni said: Although you are ineligible to drink soma-rasa in sacrifices, I promise to give you a full pot of it. Kindly arrange beauty and youth for me, because they are attractive to young women. ॥ 9-3-12 ॥

च्यवन मुनि ने कहा : यद्यपि तुम दोनों यज्ञ में सोमरस पीने के पात्र नहीं हो, किन्तु मैं वचन देता हूँ कि मैं तुम्हें सोमरस का पूरा बर्तन भर कर दूँगा। कृपा करके मेरे लिए सौन्दर्य तथा तारुण्य की व्यवस्था करो क्योंकि तरुणी स्त्रियों को ये आकर्षक लगते हैं। ॥ ९-३-१२ ॥

बाढमित्यूचतुर्विप्रमभिनन्द्य भिषक्तमौ । निमज्जतां भवानस्मिन् ह्रदे सिद्धविनिर्मिते ॥ ९-३-१३ ॥
The great physicians, the Aśvinī-kumāras, very gladly accepted Cyavana Muni’s proposal. Thus they told the brāhmaṇa, “Just dive into this lake of successful life.” [One who bathes in this lake has his desires fulfilled.] ॥ 9-3-13 ॥

उन महान् वैद्य अश्विनीकुमारों ने च्यवन मुनि के प्रस्ताव को सहर्ष स्वीकार कर लिया। उन्होंने उस ब्राह्मण से कहा “आप इस सिद्धिदायक झील में गोता लगाइये। (जो इस झील में नहाता है उसकी कामनाएँ पूरी होती हैं)। ॥ ९-३-१३ ॥

इत्युक्त्वा जरया ग्रस्तदेहो धमनिसन्ततः । ह्रदं प्रवेशितोऽश्विभ्यां वलीपलितविप्रियः ॥ ९-३-१४ ॥
After saying this, the Aśvinī-kumāras caught hold of Cyavana Muni, who was an old, diseased invalid with loose skin, white hair, and veins visible all over his body, and all three of them entered the lake. ॥ 9-3-14 ॥

यह कहकर अश्विनीकुमारों ने च्यवन मुनि को पकड़ा जो वृद्ध थे और जिनके रुग्ण शरीर की चमड़ी झूल रही थी, बाल सफेद थे तथा सारे शरीर में नसें दिख रही थीं और वे तीनों उस झील में घुस गये। ॥ ९-३-१४ ॥

पुरुषास्त्रय उत्तस्थुरपीच्या वनिताप्रियाः । पद्मस्रजः कुण्डलिनस्तुल्यरूपाः सुवाससः ॥ ९-३-१५ ॥
Thereafter, three men with very beautiful bodily features emerged from the lake. They were nicely dressed and decorated with earrings and garlands of lotuses. All of them were of the same standard of beauty. ॥ 9-3-15 ॥

तत्पश्चात् झील से तीन अत्यन्त सुन्दर स्वरूप वाले व्यक्ति ऊपर उठे। वे अच्छे वस्त्र धारण किये थे और कुण्डलों तथा कमल की मालाओं से विभूषित तीनों ही समान सुन्दरता वाले थे। ॥ ९-३-१५ ॥
