न ब्राह्मणो मे भविता हस्तग्राहो महाभुज । कचस्य बार्हस्पत्यस्य शापाद्यमशपं पुरा ।। ९-१८-२२ ।।

Indeed, this has been arranged by providence. After I cursed Kaca, the son of the learned scholar Bṛhaspati, he cursed me by saying that I would not have a brāhmaṇa for a husband. Therefore, O mighty-armed one, there is no possibility of my becoming the wife of a brāhmaṇa. ।। 9-18-22 ।।

english translation

निस्सन्देह, यह विधि का विधान था। जब मैंने प्रकाण्ड विद्वान बृहस्पति के पुत्र कच को शाप दिया तो उसने मुझे यह शाप दिया कि तुझे ब्राह्मण पति नहीं प्राप्त हो सकेगा। अतएव हे महाभुज! मेरे किसी ब्राह्मण की पत्नी बनने की कोई सम्भावना नहीं है।” ।। ९-१८-२२ ।।

na brAhmaNo me bhavitA hastagrAho mahAbhuja | kacasya bArhaspatyasya zApAdyamazapaM purA || 9-18-22 ||
