स्त्रीरत्नैरावृतः क्रीडन् रेवाम्भसि मदोत्कटः । वैजयन्तीं स्रजं बिभ्रद्रुरोध सरितं भुजैः ॥ ९-१५-२० ॥
Once while enjoying in the water of the river Narmadā, the puffed-up Kārtavīryārjuna, surrounded by beautiful women and garlanded with a garland of victory, stopped the flow of the water with his arms. ॥ 9-15-20 ॥
english translation
एक बार नर्मदा नदी के जल में क्रीड़ा करते हुए सुन्दरी स्त्रियों से घिरे एवं विजय की माला धारण किये हुए गर्वोन्नत कार्तवीर्यार्जुन ने अपनी बाँहों से जल के प्रवाह को रोक दिया। ॥ ९-१५-२० ॥
