भगवन् किमिदं जातं कर्म वो ब्रह्मवादिनाम् । विपर्ययमहो कष्टं मैवं स्याद्ब्रह्मविक्रिया ॥ ९-१-१७ ॥
My lord, all of you are expert in chanting the Vedic mantras. How then has the result been opposite to the one desired? This is a matter for lamentation. There should not have been such a reversal of the results of the Vedic mantras. ॥ 9-1-17 ॥
english translation
हे प्रभु, आप लोग वैदिक मंत्रों के उच्चारण में पटु हैं। तो फिर वांछित फल से विपरीत फल क्यों निकला? यही पश्चात्ताप का विषय है। वैदिक मंत्रों का ऐसा उल्टा प्रभाव नहीं होना चाहिए था। ॥ ९-१-१७ ॥
