असाध्वमन्यन्त हृतौकसोऽमरा घनच्छदा भारत सर्वधिष्ण्यपाः । तं मन्यमानो निजवीर्यशङ्कितं यद्धस्तमुक्तो नृहरिं महासुरः । पुनस्तमासज्जत खड्गचर्मणी प्रगृह्य वेगेन जितश्रमो मृधे ।। ७-८-२७ ।।

the demigods, who had lost their abodes and who were hiding behind the clouds for fear of the demon, did not consider that incident very good. Indeed, they were perturbed. When Hiraṇyakaśipu was freed from the hands of Nṛsiṁhadeva, he falsely thought that the Lord was afraid of his prowess. Therefore, after taking a little rest from the fight, he took up his sword and shield and again attacked the Lord with great force. ।। 7-8-27 ।।

english translation

तो सारे देवताओं ने, जिनके निवास स्थान उनके हाथों से निकल चुके थे और जो असुर के भय से बादलों के पीछे छिपे थे, इस घटना को शुभ नहीं माना। निस्सन्देह, वे अत्यधिक विचलित थे। जब हिरण्यकशिपु नृसिंह देव के हाथों से छूट गया तो उसे यह मिथ्या विचार हुआ कि भगवान् उसके शौर्य से डर गये हैं। अतएव युद्ध से थोड़ा विश्राम करके उसने अपनी ढाल तलवार निकाली और फिर से अत्यन्त बलपूर्वक भगवान् पर आक्रमण कर दिया। ।। ७-८-२७ ।।

asAdhvamanyanta hRtaukaso'marA ghanacchadA bhArata sarvadhiSNyapAH | taM manyamAno nijavIryazaGkitaM yaddhastamukto nRhariM mahAsuraH | punastamAsajjata khaDgacarmaNI pragRhya vegena jitazramo mRdhe || 7-8-27 ||
