बुद्धेर्जागरणं स्वप्नः सुषुप्तिरिति वृत्तयः । ता येनैवानुभूयन्ते सोऽध्यक्षः पुरुषः परः ॥ ७-७-२५ ॥
Intelligence can be perceived in three states of activity — wakefulness, dreaming and deep sleep. The person who perceives these three is to be considered the original master, the ruler, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ॥ 7-7-25 ॥
english translation
सक्रियता की तीन अवस्थाओं (वृत्तियों) में बुद्धि की अनुभूति की जा सकती है—जाग्रत, स्वप्न तथा सुषुप्ति। जो व्यक्ति इन तीनों का अनुभव करता है उसे ही मूल स्वामी या शासक, पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् माना जाना चाहिए। ॥ ७-७-२५ ॥
