अथ तान् श्लक्ष्णया वाचा प्रत्याहूय महाबुधः । उवाच विद्वांस्तन्निष्ठां कृपया प्रहसन्निव ॥ ७-५-५५ ॥
Prahlāda Mahārāja, who was truly the supreme learned person, then addressed his class friends in very sweet language. Smiling, he began to teach them about the uselessness of the materialistic way of life. Being very kind to them, he instructed them as follows. ॥ 7-5-55 ॥

तब प्रह्लाद महाराज ने, जो सचमुच परम विद्वान पुरुष थे, अपने सहपाठियों से अत्यन्त मधुर वाणी में कहा। उन्होंने हँसते हुए भौतिकतावादी जीवन-शैली की अनुपयोगिता के विषय में बताना शुरू किया। उन पर अत्यन्त कृपालु होने के कारण उन्होंने उन्हें इस प्रकार उपदेश दिया। ॥ ७-५-५५ ॥
