दैतेयचन्दनवने जातोऽयं कण्टकद्रुमः । यन्मूलोन्मूलपरशोर्विष्णोर्नालायितोऽर्भकः ।। ७-५-१७ ।।

sanskrit

This rascal Prahlāda has appeared like a thorn tree in a forest of sandalwood. To cut down sandalwood trees, an axe is needed, and the wood of the thorn tree is very suitable for the handle of such an axe. Lord Viṣṇu is the axe for cutting down the sandalwood forest of the family of demons, and this Prahlāda is the handle for that axe. ।। 7-5-17 ।।

english translation

यह धूर्त प्रह्लाद चन्दन के वन में कँटीले वृक्ष के समान प्रकट हुआ है। चन्दन-वृक्ष काटने के लिए कुल्हाड़े की आवश्यकता होती है और कँटीले वृक्ष की लकड़ी ऐसे कुल्हाड़े का हत्था बनाने के लिए अत्यन्त उपयुक्त होती है। भगवान् विष्णु दैत्य वंश रूपी चन्दन बन को काट गिराने के लिए कुल्हाड़े के तुल्य हैं और यह प्रह्लाद उस कुल्हाड़े का हत्था (बेंट) है। ।।‌ ७-५-१७ ।।
