तेन तप्ता दिवं त्यक्त्वा ब्रह्मलोकं ययुः सुराः । धात्रे विज्ञापयामासुर्देवदेव जगत्पते ॥ ७-३-६ ॥
Scorched and extremely disturbed because of Hiraṇyakaśipu’s severe penances, all the demigods left the planets where they reside and went to the planet of Lord Brahmā, where they informed the creator as follows: O lord of the demigods, O master of the universe, because of the fire emanating from Hiraṇyakaśipu’s head as a result of his severe austerities, we have become so disturbed that we could not stay in our planets but have come to you. ॥ 7-3-6 ॥

हिरण्यकशिपु की कठोर तपस्या से झुलसने तथा अत्यन्त विचलित होने के कारण समस्त देवताओं ने अपने रहने के लोक छोड़ दिये और ब्रह्मा के लोक को गये जहाँ उन्होंने स्रष्टा को इस प्रकार सूचित किया—“हे देवताओं के स्वामी, हे ब्रह्माण्ड के प्रभु, हिरण्यकशिपु की कठोर तपस्या के कारण उसके शिर से निकलने वाली अग्नि के कारण हम लोग इतने उद्विग्न हैं कि हम अपने लोकों में रह नहीं सकते, अतएव हम आपके पास आये हैं।” ॥ ७-३-६ ॥

दैत्येन्द्रतपसा तप्ता दिवि स्थातुं न शक्नुमः । तस्य चोपशमं भूमन् विधेहि यदि मन्यसे । लोका न यावन्नङ्क्ष्यन्ति बलिहारास्तवाभिभूः ॥ ७-३-७ ॥
O great person, chief of the universe, if you think it proper, kindly stop these disturbances, meant to destroy everything, before all your obedient subjects are annihilated. ॥ 7-3-7 ॥
english translation
हे महापुरुष, हे ब्रह्माण्ड के प्रधान, यदि आप उचित समझें तो इन सारे उत्पातों को, जो सब कुछ विनष्ट करने के उद्देश्य से हो रहे हैं, कृपा करके रोक दें जिससे आपकी आज्ञाकारी प्रजा का संहार न हो। ॥ ७-३-७ ॥

तस्यायं किल सङ्कल्पश्चरतो दुश्चरं तपः । श्रूयतां किं न विदितस्तवाथापि निवेदितः ॥ ७-३-८ ॥
Hiraṇyakaśipu has undertaken a most severe type of austerity. Although his plan is not unknown to you, kindly listen as we submit his intentions. ॥ 7-3-8 ॥
english translation
हिरण्यकशिपु ने अत्यन्त कठिन तपस्या का व्रत ले रखा है। यद्यपि आपसे उसकी योजना छिपी नहीं है, तो भी हम जिस रूप में उसके मन्तव्यों का निवेदन कर रहे हैं, कृपा करके उन्हें सुन लें। ॥ ७-३-८ ॥

सृष्ट्वा चराचरमिदं तपोयोगसमाधिना । अध्यास्ते सर्वधिष्ण्येभ्यः परमेष्ठी निजासनम् ॥ ७-३-९ ॥
The supreme person within this universe, Lord Brahmā, has gotten his exalted post by dint of severe austerities, mystic power and trance. Consequently, after creating the universe, he has become the most worshipable demigod within it. ॥ 7-3-9 ॥

इस ब्रह्माण्ड में परमपुरुष ब्रह्माजी ने अपना उच्च पद कठिन तपस्या, योगशक्ति तथा समाधि द्वारा प्राप्त किया है। फलस्वरूप इस ब्रह्माण्ड की सृष्टि करने के बाद वे इसके सर्वाधिक पूज्य देवता बने हैं। ॥ ७-३-९ ॥

तदहं वर्धमानेन तपोयोगसमाधिना । कालात्मनोश्च नित्यत्वात्साधयिष्ये तथाऽऽत्मनः ॥ ७-३-१० ॥
Since I am eternal and time is eternal, I shall endeavor for such austerity, mystic power and trance for many, many births, and thus I shall occupy the same post occupied by Lord Brahmā. ॥ 7-3-10 ॥
english translation
चूँकि मैं शाश्वत हूँ और काल भी शाश्वत है, अतएव मैं ऐसी ही तपस्या, योगशक्ति तथा समाधि के लिए अनेक जन्मों तक प्रयास करूँगा और वह स्थान ग्रहण करूँगा जो ब्रह्माजी ने प्राप्त किया है। ॥ ७-३-१० ॥
