भूतानि तैस्तैर्निजयोनिकर्मभिर्भवन्ति काले न भवन्ति सर्वशः । न तत्र हात्मा प्रकृतावपि स्थितस्तस्या गुणैरन्यतमो निबध्यते ।। ७-२-४१ ।।

Every conditioned soul receives a different type of body according to his work, and when the engagement is finished the body is finished. Although the spirit soul is situated in subtle and gross material bodies in different forms of life, he is not bound by them, for he is always understood to be completely different from the manifested body. ।। 7-2-41 ।।

english translation

प्रत्येक बद्धजीव अपने कर्म के अनुसार भिन्न प्रकार का शरीर पाता है और जब उसका कार्य समाप्त हो जाता है, तो शरीर भी नष्ट हो जाता है। यद्यपि आत्मा विभिन्न योनियों में विभिन्न प्रकार के सूक्ष्म तथा स्थूल शरीरों में स्थित रहता है, किन्तु वह उनसे बँधा नहीं रहता, क्योंकि वह व्यक्त शरीर से सदा-सदा पूर्णतया भिन्न माना जाता है। ।। ७-२-४१ ।।
