पथि च्युतं तिष्ठति दिष्टरक्षितं गृहे स्थितं तद्विहतं विनश्यति । जीवत्यनाथोऽपि तदीक्षितो वने गृहेऽभिगुप्तोऽस्य हतो न जीवति ।। ७-२-४० ।।

Sometimes one loses his money on a public street, where everyone can see it, and yet his money is protected by destiny and not seen by others. Thus the man who lost it gets it back. On the other hand, if the Lord does not give protection, even money maintained very securely at home is lost. If the Supreme Lord gives one protection, even though one has no protector and is in the jungle, one remains alive, whereas a person well protected at home by relatives and others sometimes dies, no one being able to protect him. ।। 7-2-40 ।।

english translation

कभी-कभी मनुष्य अपना धन सडक़ पर खो देता है जहाँ सभी उसे देख सकते हैं; फिर भी यह धन भाग्यवश सुरक्षित पड़ा रहता है और इसे कोई नहीं देख पाता। इस तरह जिस व्यक्ति ने इस धन को खोया था, उसे यह वापस मिल जाता है। दूसरी ओर, यदि भगवान् सुरक्षा प्रदान नहीं करते तो घर में अत्यन्त सुरक्षित ढंग से रखा होने पर भी यह धन खो जाता है। यदि भगवान् किसी की रक्षा करते हैं, तो उसका कोई रक्षक न होते हुए भी तथा जंगल में रहते हुए भी वह जीवित रहता है जब कि घर पर सम्बन्धियों तथा अन्यों से रक्षित होते हुए भी मनुष्य कभी-कभी मर जाता है; कोई उसकी रक्षा नहीं कर पाता। ।। ७-२-४० ‌।।
