एष आत्मविपर्यासो ह्यलिङ्गे लिङ्गभावना । एष प्रियाप्रियैर्योगो वियोगः कर्मसंसृतिः ।। ७-२-२५ ।।

In his bewildered state, the living entity, accepting the body and mind to be the self, considers some people to be his kinsmen and others to be outsiders. Because of this misconception, he suffers. Indeed, the accumulation of such concocted material ideas is the cause of suffering and so-called happiness in the material world. The conditioned soul thus situated must take birth in different species and work in various types of consciousness, thus creating new bodies. ।। 7-2-25 ।।

english translation

मोहावस्था में जीव अपने शरीर तथा मन को आत्मा स्वीकार करके कुछ व्यक्तियों को अपना सगा सम्बन्धी और अन्यों को बाहरी लोग मानने लगता है। इस भ्रान्ति के कारण उसे कष्ट भोगना पड़ता है। निस्सन्देह, ऐसे मनोभावों का संचय ही सांसारिक दुख और तथाकथित सुख का कारण बनता है। इस प्रकार स्थित होकर बद्धजीव को विभिन्न योनियों में जन्म लेना होता है और विभिन्न चेतनाओं में कर्म करना पड़ता है, जिससे नवीन शरीरों की उत्पत्ति होती है। ।। ७-२-२५ ।।
