यस्य साक्षाद्भगवति ज्ञानदीपप्रदे गुरौ । मर्त्यासद्धीः श्रुतं तस्य सर्वं कुञ्जरशौचवत् ।। ७-१५-२६ ‌।।

sanskrit

The spiritual master should be considered to be directly the Supreme Lord because he gives transcendental knowledge for enlightenment. Consequently, for one who maintains the material conception that the spiritual master is an ordinary human being, everything is frustrated. His enlightenment and his Vedic studies and knowledge are like the bathing of an elephant. ।। 7-15-26 ।।

english translation

गुरु को साक्षात् भगवान् मानना चाहिए, क्योंकि वह प्रकाश के लिए दिव्य ज्ञान प्रदान करता है। फलस्वरूप जो यह भौतिक धारणा रखता है कि गुरु सामान्य मनुष्य होता है उसके लिए हर वस्तु निराशाजनक रहती है। उसका प्रकाश, उसका वैदिक अध्ययन तथा ज्ञान झील में हाथी के स्नान के समान होता है। ।। ७-१५-२६ ।।

yasya sAkSAdbhagavati jJAnadIpaprade gurau | martyAsaddhIH zrutaM tasya sarvaM kuJjarazaucavat || 7-15-26 ‌||
