यावद्भ्रियेत जठरं तावत्स्वत्वं हि देहिनाम् । अधिकं योऽभिमन्येत स स्तेनो दण्डमर्हति ॥ ७-१४-८ ॥
One may claim proprietorship to as much wealth as required to maintain body and soul together, but one who desires proprietorship over more than that must be considered a thief, and he deserves to be punished by the laws of nature. ॥ 7-14-8 ॥
english translation
शरीर के पालन के लिए जितने धन की आवश्यकता हो उतने के स्वामित्व का ही अधिकार रखना चाहिए, किन्तु जो इससे अधिक का स्वामी बनने की कामना करता है उसे चोर मानना चाहिए और प्रकृति के नियमों द्वारा दण्डनीय है। ॥ ७-१४-८ ॥
