संस्कारकालो जायाया अपत्यस्यात्मनस्तथा । प्रेतसंस्था मृताहश्च कर्मण्यभ्युदये नृप ॥ ७-१४-२६ ॥
O King Yudhiṣṭhira, at the time prescribed for reformatory ritualistic ceremonies for one’s self, one’s wife or one’s children, or during funeral ceremonies and annual death ceremonies, one must perform the auspicious ceremonies mentioned above in order to flourish in fruitive activities. ॥ 7-14-26 ॥

हे राजा युधिष्ठिर, अपने, अपनी पत्नी या अपनी सन्तान के संस्कार अनुष्ठानों के लिए नियत समय पर या अन्त्येष्टि संस्कार तथा बरसी के अवसर पर मनुष्य को सकाम कर्मों में आगे बढऩे के लिए उपर्युक्त शुभ उत्सव सम्पन्न करने चाहिए। ॥ ७-१४-२६ ॥

अथ देशान् प्रवक्ष्यामि धर्मादिश्रेय आवहन् । स वै पुण्यतमो देशः सत्पात्रं यत्र लभ्यते ॥ ७-१४-२७ ॥
Nārada Muni continued: Now I shall describe the places where religious performances may be well executed. Any place where a Vaiṣṇava is available is an excellent place for all auspicious activities. ॥ 7-14-27 ॥

नारद मुनि ने आगे कहा : अब मैं उन स्थानों का वर्णन करूँगा जहाँ धार्मिक अनुष्ठान अच्छी तरह सम्पन्न किये जा सकते हैं। जिस किसी स्थान में वैष्णव हो वह स्थान समस्त कल्याणकारी कृत्यों के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ है। ॥ ७-१४-२७ ॥

बिम्बं भगवतो यत्र सर्वमेतच्चराचरम् । यत्र ह ब्राह्मणकुलं तपोविद्यादयान्वितम् ॥ ७-१४-२८ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the support of this entire cosmic manifestation, with all its moving and nonmoving living entities, and the temple where the Deity of the Lord is installed is a most sacred place. Furthermore, places where learned brāhmaṇas observe Vedic principles by means of austerity, education and mercy are also most auspicious and sacred. ॥ 7-14-28 ॥

भगवान् समस्त चर तथा अचर प्राणियों समेत इस समग्र विराट जगत के आश्रय हैं और वह मन्दिर जहाँ भगवान् का अर्चाविग्रह स्थापित किया जाता है सर्वाधिक पवित्र स्थान होता है। यही नहीं, जिन स्थानों में विद्वान ब्राह्मण तपस्या, विद्या तथा दया के द्वारा वैदिक नियमों का पालन करते हैं, वे भी अत्यन्त शुभ तथा पवित्र होते हैं। ॥ ७-१४-२८ ॥

यत्र यत्र हरेरर्चा स देशः श्रेयसां पदम् । यत्र गङ्गादयो नद्यः पुराणेषु च विश्रुताः ॥ ७-१४-२९ ॥
Auspicious indeed are the places where there is a temple of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, in which He is duly worshiped, and also the places where there flow the celebrated sacred rivers mentioned in the Purāṇas, the supplementary Vedic literatures. Anything spiritual done there is certainly very effective. ॥ 7-14-29 ॥

निस्सन्देह, वे स्थान कल्याणकारी हैं जहाँ भगवान् कृष्ण का मन्दिर हो जिसमें उनकी विधिवत् पूजा होती हो। वे स्थान भी कल्याणकारी हैं जहाँ पुराणों जैसे अनुपूरक वैदिक शास्त्रों में उल्लिखित गंगा सदृश प्रसिद्ध पवित्र नदियाँ बहती हैं। निश्चय ही वहाँ जो भी आध्यात्मिक कार्य किया जाता है, वह अत्यन्त प्रभावशाली होता है। ॥ ७-१४-२९ ॥

सरांसि पुष्करादीनि क्षेत्राण्यर्हाश्रितान्युत । कुरुक्षेत्रं गयशिरः प्रयागः पुलहाश्रमः ॥ ७-१४-३० ॥
The sacred lakes like Puṣkara and places where saintly persons live, like Kurukṣetra, Gayā, Prayāga, Pulahāśrama, ॥ 7-14-30 ॥

पुष्कर जैसे पवित्र सरोवर तथा वे स्थान जहाँ साधु पुरुष रहते हैं यथा कुरुक्षेत्र, गया, प्रयाग, पुलहाश्रम, ॥ ७-१४-३० ॥
