परमाणुपरममहतोस्त्वमाद्यन्तान्तरवर्ती त्रयविधुरः । आदावन्तेऽपि च सत्त्वानां यद्ध्रुवं तदेवान्तरालेऽपि ।। ६-१६-३६ ।।

You exist in the beginning, middle and end of everything, from the most minute particle of the cosmic manifestation — the atom — to the gigantic universes and total material energy. Nonetheless, You are eternal, having no beginning, end or middle. You are perceived to exist in these three phases, and thus You are permanent. When the cosmic manifestation does not exist, You exist as the original potency. ।। 6-16-36 ।।

english translation

आप इस दृश्य जगत के नन्हें से नन्हें कण-परमाणु से लेकर विराट ब्रह्माण्डों तथा समस्त भौतिक शक्ति तक की प्रत्येक वस्तु के आदि, मध्य तथा अन्त में विद्यमान हैं। फिर भी आप नित्य हैं, जिसका न कोई आदि है, न अन्त या मध्य। आप इन तीनों स्थितियों में विद्यमान देखे जाते हैं; इस तरह आप अटल हैं। जब इस दृश्य जगत का अस्तित्व नहीं रहता तो आप आदि शक्ति के रूप में विद्यमान रहते हैं। ।। ६-१६-३६ ।।

Every universe is covered by seven layers — earth, water, fire, air, sky, the total energy and false ego — each ten times greater than the previous one. There are innumerable universes besides this one, and although they are unlimitedly large, they move about like atoms in You. Therefore You are called unlimited [ananta]. ।। 6-16-37 ।।

english translation

प्रत्येक ब्रह्माण्ड सात आवरणों—पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, सकल भौतिक शक्ति तथा अहंकार—से घिरा है जिनमें से प्रत्येक अपने से पहले वाले से दस गुना बड़ा है। इस ब्रह्माण्ड के अतिरिक्त भी असंख्य ब्रह्माण्ड हैं, जो असीम और विशाल हैं और आपमें स्थित परमाणुओं की भाँति चक्कर लगाते रहते हैं। इसलिए आप अनन्त कहलाते हैं। ।। ६-१६-३७ ।।

विषयतृषो नरपशवो य उपासते विभूतीर्न परं त्वाम् । तेषामाशिष ईश तदनु विनश्यन्ति यथा राजकुलम् ।। ६-१६-३८ ।।

sanskrit

O Lord, O Supreme, unintelligent persons who thirst for sense enjoyment and who worship various demigods are no better than animals in the human form of life. Because of their animalistic propensities, they fail to worship Your Lordship, and instead they worship the insignificant demigods, who are but small sparks of Your glory. With the destruction of the entire universe, including the demigods, the benedictions received from the demigods also vanish, just like the nobility when a king is no longer in power. ।। 6-16-38 ।।

english translation

हे भगवन्, हे परमेश्वर! इन्द्रियतृप्ति के भूखे तथा विभिन्न देवताओं की उपासना करने वाले अज्ञानी पुरुष नर-वेश में पशुओं के समान हैं। वे पाशविक वृत्ति के कारण आपकी उपासना न करके नगण्य देवताओं को, जो आपके यश की लघु चिनगारी के समान हैं, पूजते हैं। समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड के संहार के साथ ये देवता तथा इनसे प्राप्त आशीर्वाद उसी प्रकार विनष्ट हो जाते हैं जिस प्रकार राजा की सत्ता छिन जाने पर राजकीय अधिकारी। ।। ६-१६-३८ ।।

कामधियस्त्वयि रचिता न परम रोहन्ति यथा करम्भबीजानि । ज्ञानात्मन्यगुणमये गुणगणतोऽस्य द्वन्द्वजालानि ।। ६-१६-३९ ।।

O Supreme Lord, if persons obsessed with material desires for sense gratification through material opulence worship You, who are the source of all knowledge and are transcendental to material qualities, they are not subject to material rebirth, just as sterilized or fried seeds do not produce plants. Living entities are subjected to the repetition of birth and death because they are conditioned by material nature, but since You are transcendental, one who is inclined to associate with You in transcendence escapes the conditions of material nature. ।। 6-16-39 ।।

english translation

हे परमेश्वर! यदि ऐश्वर्य द्वारा इन्द्रियतृप्ति पाने के इच्छुक व्यक्ति भी समस्त ज्ञान के स्रोत तथा भौतिक गुणों से परे आपकी उपासना करते हैं, तो उनका पुनर्जन्म नहीं होता जिस प्रकार भुने बीज से पौधे नहीं उत्पन्न होते। जीवात्माओं को जन्म तथा मृत्यु का चक्र भोगना पड़ता है क्योंकि वे भौतिक प्रकृति द्वारा बद्ध हैं परन्तु आप दिव्य हैं, अत: जो आपसे संगति करता है, वह भौतिक प्रकृति के बन्धन से छूट जाता है। ।। ६-१६-३९ ।।

O unconquerable one, when You spoke about bhāgavata-dharma, which is the uncontaminated religious system for achieving the shelter of Your lotus feet, that was Your victory. Persons who have no material desires, like the Kumāras, who are self-satisfied sages, worship You to be liberated from material contamination. In other words, they accept the process of bhāgavata-dharma to achieve shelter at Your lotus feet. ।। 6-16-40 ।।

english translation

हे अजित! जब आपने भागवत-धर्म कह सुनाया जो आप के चरणकमलों में शरण लेने के लिए अकलुषित धार्मिक प्रणाली थी, तो वह आपकी विजय थी। आत्मतुष्ट (आत्माराम) चतु:सन के समान निष्काम व्यक्ति, भौतिक कल्मष से मुक्त होने के लिए आपकी उपासना करते हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में, कहा जा सकता है कि वे आपके चरणारविन्द की शरण प्राप्त करने के लिए भागवतधर्म को ग्रहण करते हैं। ।। ६-१६-४० ।।
