नाहं तनूज ददृशे हतमङ्गला ते मुग्धस्मितं मुदितवीक्षणमाननाब्जम् । किं वा गतोऽस्यपुनरन्वयमन्यलोकं नीतोऽघृणेन न श‍ृणोमि कला गिरस्ते ।। ६-१४-५८ ।।

My dear son, I am certainly most unfortunate, for I can no longer see your mild smiling. You have closed your eyes forever. I therefore conclude that you have been taken from this planet to another, from which you will not return. My dear son, I can no longer hear your pleasing voice. ।। 6-14-58 ।।

english translation

प्रिय पुत्र! मैं सचमुच अभागिनी हूँ क्योंकि मैं अब तुम्हारे मुख पर मन्द हँसी नहीं देख सकती हूं। तुमने सदा के लिए आँखें बन्द कर ली हैं; अत: मैं इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुँची हूँ कि तुम इस लोक से दूसरे लोक में ले जाये गये हो जहाँ से तुम लौट नहीं पाओगे। बेटे! मैं तुम्हारी मनमोहक वाणी अब और आगे नहीं सुन सकती हूँ। ।। ६-१४-५८ ।।

nAhaM tanUja dadRze hatamaGgalA te mugdhasmitaM muditavIkSaNamAnanAbjam | kiM vA gato'syapunaranvayamanyalokaM nIto'ghRNena na za‍RNomi kalA giraste || 6-14-58 ||
