मातुस्त्वतितरां पुत्रे स्नेहो मोहसमुद्भवः । कृतद्युतेः सपत्नीनां प्रजाकामज्वरोऽभवत् ।। ६-१४-३७ ।।

sanskrit

The mother’s attraction and attention to the son, like that of the child’s father, excessively increased. The other wives, seeing Kṛtadyuti’s son, were very much agitated, as if by high fevers, with a desire to have sons. ।। 6-14-37 ।।

english translation

पिता की ही भाँति माँ का भी आकर्षण एवं स्नेह पुत्र के प्रति बढ़ता गया। कृतद्युति के पुत्र को देख देख कर राजा की अन्य पत्नियाँ पुत्र की कामना से अत्यधिक क्षुब्ध रहने लगीं, मानो उन्हें उच्च ज्वर हो। ।। ६-१४-३७ ।।
