यतस्ततश्चोपनिन्ये न्यायतोऽन्यायतो धनम् । बभारास्याः कुटुम्बिन्याः कुटुम्बं मन्दधीरयम् ॥ ६-१-६६ ॥
Although born of a brāhmaṇa family, this rascal, bereft of intelligence because of the prostitute’s association, earned money somehow or other, regardless of whether properly or improperly, and used it to maintain the prostitute’s sons and daughters. ॥ 6-1-66 ॥
english translation
यद्यपि वह ब्राह्मण कुल में उत्पन्न था, किन्तु वेश्या की संगति के कारण बुद्धि से विहीन उस धूर्त ने जैसे-तैसे करके धन कमाया चाहे वह उचित रीति से हो या अनुचित रीति से और उसको वेश्या के पुत्रों तथा पुत्रियों के भरण-पोषण में लगाया। ॥ ६-१-६६ ॥

यदसौ शास्त्रमुल्लङ्घ्य स्वैरचार्यार्यगर्हितः । अवर्तत चिरं कालमघायुरशुचिर्मलात् ॥ ६-१-६७ ॥
This brāhmaṇa irresponsibly spent his long lifetime transgressing all the rules and regulations of the holy scripture, living extravagantly and eating food prepared by a prostitute. Therefore he is full of sins. He is unclean and is addicted to forbidden activities. ॥6-1-67 ॥
english translation
इस ब्राह्मण ने पवित्र शास्त्रों के विधि-विधानों का उल्लंघन करके, अपव्यय करने तथा वेश्या द्वारा बनाया भोजन करने में बड़े ही अनुत्तरदायित्त्व पूर्ण ढंग से अपनी दीर्घ आयु बिताई। इसीलिए वह पापों से पूर्ण है। वह अस्वच्छ है और निषिद्ध कर्मों में लिप्त रहता है। ॥ ६-१-६७ ॥

तत एनं दण्डपाणेः सकाशं कृतकिल्बिषम् । नेष्यामोऽकृतनिर्वेशं यत्र दण्डेन शुद्ध्यति ॥ ६-१-६८ ॥
This man Ajāmila did not undergo atonement. Therefore because of his sinful life, we must take him into the presence of Yamarāja for punishment. There, according to the extent of his sinful acts, he will be punished and thus purified. ॥ 6-1-68 ॥
english translation
इस अजामिल ने कोई प्रायश्चित्त नहीं किया। अत: उसके पापी जीवन के कारण हम इसे दण्ड देने के लिए यमराज के समक्ष ले जायेंगे। वहाँ यह अपने पापकर्मों की मात्रा के अनुसार दण्डित होगा और इस तरह शुद्ध बनाया जायेगा। ॥ ६-१-६८ ॥
