इति वेदविदां वादः श्रूयते तत्र तत्र ह । कर्म यत्क्रियते प्रोक्तं परोक्षं न प्रकाशते ॥ ४-२९-५९ ॥
The expert knowers of the Vedic conclusions say that one enjoys or suffers the results of his past activities. But practically it is seen that the body that performed the work in the last birth is already lost. So how is it possible to enjoy or suffer the reactions of that work in a different body? ॥ 4-29-59 ॥

वेदवादियों का कथन है कि मनुष्य अपने पूर्व कर्मों के फल का भोग करता है। किन्तु व्यावहारिक रूप में यह देखा जाता है कि पिछले जन्म में जिस शरीर ने कर्म किया था वह तो नष्ट हो चुका होता है। अत: उस कर्म का भोग एक भिन्न शरीर द्वारा किस प्रकार सम्भव है? ॥ ४-२९-५९ ॥
