चचार मृगयां तत्र दृप्त आत्तेषुकार्मुकः । विहाय जायामतदर्हां मृगव्यसनलालसः ।। ४-२६-४ ।।

sanskrit

It was almost impossible for King Purañjana to give up the company of his Queen even for a moment. Nonetheless, on that day, being very much inspired by the desire to hunt, he took up his bow and arrow with great pride and went to the forest, not caring for his wife. ।। 4-26-4 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि राजा पुरञ्जन के लिए अपनी रानी को एक पल भर भी छोडऩा कठिन था। तो भी उस दिन उसे शिकार का ऐसा शौक लगा कि अपनी पत्नी की परवाह किये बिना वह बड़े गर्व से धनुष-बाण लेकर जंगल चला गया। ।। ४-२६-४ ।।
