क्वचिच्च शोचतीं जायामनु शोचति दीनवत् । अनु हृष्यति हृष्यन्त्यां मुदितामनु मोदते ।। ४-२५-६१ ।।

sanskrit

And when the dear Queen was lamenting, the poor King also had to follow her in lamentation. In the same way, when the Queen felt enjoyment, he also enjoyed, and when the Queen was satisfied, the King also felt satisfaction. ।। 4-25-61 ।।

english translation

और जब उसकी प्रिया रानी शोकमग्न होती तो बेचारा राजा भी शोक में उसका साथ देता। इसी तरह रानी को जब सुख मिलता उसका भोग राजा भी करता और जब रानी सन्तुष्ट हो जाती तो राजा भी तुष्टि का अनुभव करता। ।। ४-२५-६१ ।।

विप्रलब्धो महिष्यैवं सर्वप्रकृतिवञ्चितः । नेच्छन्ननुकरोत्यज्ञः क्लैब्यात्क्रीडामृगो यथा ।। ४-२५-६२ ।।

In this way, King Purañjana was captivated by his nice wife and was thus cheated. Indeed, he became cheated in his whole existence in the material world. Even against that poor foolish King’s desire, he remained under the control of his wife, just like a pet animal that dances according to the order of its master. ।। 4-25-62 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार राजा पुरञ्जन अपनी सुन्दर पत्नी के द्वारा बन्दी बना हुआ था और ठगा जा रहा था। वास्तव में वह संसार में अपने सम्पूर्ण अस्तित्व में ठगा जा रहा था। बेचारा वह मूर्ख राजा अपनी इच्छा के विरुद्ध अपनी पत्नी के वश में उसी प्रकार रहता जिस प्रकार कोई पालतू जानवर अपने स्वामी की इच्छानुसार नाचता रहता है। ।। ४-२५-६२ ।।
