प्रवृत्ताय निवृत्ताय पितृदेवाय कर्मणे । नमोऽधर्मविपाकाय मृत्यवे दुःखदाय च ।। ४-२४-४१ ।।

My dear Lord, You are the viewer of the results of pious activities. You are inclination, disinclination and their resultant activities. You are the cause of the miserable conditions of life caused by irreligion, and therefore You are death. I offer You my respectful obeisances. ।। 4-24-41 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, आप पुण्यकर्मों के फलों के दृष्टा हैं। आप प्रवृत्ति, निवृत्ति तथा उनके कर्म-रूपी परिणाम (फल) हैं। आप अधर्म से जनित जीवन के दुखों के कारणस्वरूप हैं, अत: आप मृत्यु हैं। मैं आपको सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ। ।। ४-२४-४१ ।।

My dear Lord, You are the topmost of all bestowers of all benediction, the oldest and supreme enjoyer amongst all enjoyers. You are the master of all the worlds’ metaphysical philosophy, for You are the supreme cause of all causes, Lord Kṛṣṇa. You are the greatest of all religious principles, the supreme mind, and You have a brain which is never checked by any condition. Therefore I repeatedly offer my obeisances unto You. ।। 4-24-42 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, आप आशीर्वादों के समस्त प्रदायकों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ, सबसे प्राचीन तथा समस्त भोक्ताओं में परम भोक्ता हैं। आप समस्त सांख्य योग-दर्शन के अधिष्ठाता हैं। आप समस्त कारणों के कारण भगवान् कृष्ण हैं। आप सभी धर्मों में श्रेष्ठ हैं, आप परम मन हैं और आपका मस्तिष्क (बुद्धि) ऐसा है, जो कभी कुण्ठित नहीं होता। अत: मैं आपको बारम्बार नमस्कार करता हूँ। ।। ४-२४-४२ ।।

My dear Lord, You are the supreme controller of the worker, sense activities and results of sense activities [karma]. Therefore You are the controller of the body, mind and senses. You are also the supreme controller of egotism, known as Rudra. You are the source of knowledge and the activities of the Vedic injunctions. ।। 4-24-43 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, आप कर्ता, करण और कर्म—इन तीनों शक्तियों के नियामक हैं। अत: आप शरीर, मन तथा इन्द्रियों के परम नियन्ता हैं। आप अहंकार के परम नियन्ता रुद्र भी हैं। आप वैदिक आदेशों के ज्ञान तथा उनके अनुसार किए जाने वाले कर्मों के स्रोत हैं। ।। ४-२४-४३ ।।

My dear Lord, I wish to see You exactly in the form that Your very dear devotees worship. You have many other forms, but I wish to see Your form that is especially liked by the devotees. Please be merciful upon me and show me that form, for only that form worshiped by the devotees can perfectly satisfy all the demands of the senses. ।। 4-24-44 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, मैं आपको उस रूप में देखने का इच्छुक हूँ, जिस रूप में आपके अत्यन्त प्रिय भक्त आपकी पूजा करते हैं। आपके अन्य अनेक रूप हैं, किन्तु मैं तो उस रूप का दर्शन करना चाहता हूँ जो भक्तों को विशेष रूप से प्रिय है। आप मुझ पर अनुग्रह करें और मुझे वह स्वरूप दिखलाएं, क्योंकि जिस रूप की भक्त पूजा करते हैं वही इन्द्रियों की इच्छाओं को पूरा कर सकता है। ।। ४-२४-४४ ।।
