नीलरक्तोत्पलाम्भोजकह्लारेन्दीवराकरम् । हंससारसचक्राह्वकारण्डवनिकूजितम् ।। ४-२४-२१ ।।

sanskrit

In that great lake there were different types of lotus flowers. Some of them were bluish, and some of them were red. Some of them grew at night, some in the day and some, like the indīvara lotus flower, in the evening. Combined together, the lotus flowers filled the lake so full that the lake appeared to be a great mine of such flowers. Consequently, on the shores there were swans and cranes, cakravākas, kāraṇḍavas and other beautiful water birds standing about. ।। 4-24-21 ।।

english translation

उस विशाल सरोवर में विभिन्न प्रकार के कमल पुष्प थे। कुछ नीले थे तो कुछ लाल, कुछ रात्रि में खिलने वाले थे, तो कुछ दिन में और इन्दीवर जैसे कुछ कमल शाम को खिलने वाले थे। इन सब फूलों से सारा सरोवर पुष्पों की खान सा प्रतीत हो रहा था। फलस्वरूप सरोवर के तटों पर हंस, सारस, चक्रवाक, कारण्डव तथा अन्य सुन्दर जलपक्षी खड़े हुए थे। ।। ४-२४-२१ ।।

मत्तभ्रमरसौस्वर्यहृष्टरोमलताङ्घ्रिपम् । पद्मकोशरजो दिक्षु विक्षिपत्पवनोत्सवम् ।। ४-२४-२२ ।।

sanskrit

There were various trees and creepers on all sides of the lake, and there were mad bumblebees humming all about them. The trees appeared to be very jolly due to the sweet humming of the bumblebees, and the saffron, which was contained in the lotus flowers, was being thrown into the air. These all created such an atmosphere that it appeared as though a festival were taking place there. ।। 4-24-22 ।।

english translation

उस सरोवर के चारों ओर तरह-तरह के वृक्ष तथा लताएँ थीं और उन पर मतवाले भौंरे गूँज रहे थे। भौंरों की मधुर गूँज से वृक्ष अत्यन्त उल्लसित लग रहे थे और कमल पुष्पों का केसर वायु में बिखर रहा था। इन सबसे ऐसा वातावरण उत्पन्न हो रहा था मानो कोई उत्सव हो रहा हो। ।। ४-२४-२२ ।।

तत्र गान्धर्वमाकर्ण्य दिव्यमार्गमनोहरम् । विसिस्म्यू राजपुत्रास्ते मृदङ्गपणवाद्यनु ।। ४-२४-२३ ।।

sanskrit

The sons of the King became very much amazed when they heard vibrations from various drums and kettledrums along with other orderly musical sounds pleasing to the ear. ।। 4-24-23 ।।

english translation

जब राजा के पुत्रों ने मृदंग तथा पणव के साथ-साथ अन्य राग-रागिनियों की कर्णप्रिय ध्वनि सुनी तो वे अत्यन्त विस्मित हुए। ।। ४-२४-२३ ।।

तर्ह्येव सरसस्तस्मान्निष्क्रामन्तं सहानुगम् । उपगीयमानममरप्रवरं विबुधानुगैः ।। ४-२४-२४ ।।

sanskrit

The Pracetās were fortunate to see Lord Śiva, the chief of the demigods, emerging from the water with his associates. He was accompanied by many musicians, who were glorifying him. ।। 4-24-24 ।।

english translation

प्रचेतागण भाग्यवान थे कि उन्होंने प्रमुख देव शिवजी को उनके पार्षदों सहित जल से बाहर आते देखा। उनके साथ अनेक गन्धर्व गायक थे, जो उनका गुणगान कर रहे थे। ।। ४-२४-२४ ।।

तप्तहेमनिकायाभं शितिकण्ठं त्रिलोचनम् । प्रसादसुमुखं वीक्ष्य प्रणेमुर्जातकौतुकाः ।। ४-२४-२५ ।।

sanskrit

His bodily luster was just like molten gold, his throat was bluish, and he had three eyes, which looked very mercifully upon his devotees. As soon as the Pracetās saw Lord Śiva, they immediately offered their obeisances in great amazement and fell down at the lotus feet of the lord. ।। 4-24-25 ।।

english translation

उनकी शारीरिक कान्ति तपे हुए सोने के समान थी, उनका कंठ नीला था और उनके तीन नेत्र थे जिनसे वे भक्तों पर कृपादृष्टि डाल रहे थे ज्यों ही प्रेचताओं ने शिवजी को देखा उन्होंने तुरन्त ही कुतूहलवश उन्हें नमस्कार किया और वे उनके चरणों पर गिर पड़े। ।। ४-२४-२५ ।।
