एष एव हि लोकानां शिवः पन्थाः सनातनः । यं पूर्वे चानुसन्तस्थुर्यत्प्रमाणं जनार्दनः ।। ४-२-३१ ।।

sanskrit

The Vedas give the eternal regulative principles for auspicious advancement in human civilization which have been rigidly followed in the past. The strong evidence of this principle is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is called Janārdana, the well-wisher of all living entities. ।। 4-2-31 ।।

english translation

वेद मानवीय सभ्यता के कल्याण की प्रगति हेतु शाश्वत विधान प्रदान करने वाले हैं जिसका प्रीचीन काल में दृढ़ता से पालन होता रहा है। इसका सशक्त प्रमाण पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् स्वयं हैं, जो जनार्दन अर्थात् समस्त जीवात्माओं के शुभेच्छु कहलाते हैं। ।। ४-२-३१ ।।
