प्रायेणाभ्यर्चितो देवो येऽप्रजा गृहमेधिनः । कदपत्यभृतं दुःखं ये न विन्दन्ति दुर्भरम् ।। ४-१३-४३ ‌‌।।

sanskrit

The King thought to himself: Persons who have no son are certainly fortunate. They must have worshiped the Lord in their previous lives so that they would not have to suffer the unbearable unhappiness caused by a bad son. ।। 4-13-43 ।।

english translation

राजा ने मन में सोचा कि पुत्रहीन व्यक्ति निश्चय ही भाग्यशाली हैं। उन्होंने अवश्य ही पूर्वजन्मों में भगवान् की पूजा की होगी जिससे उन्हें किसी कुपुत्र द्वारा दिया गया असह्य दुख न उठाना पड़े। ।। ४-१३-४३ ।।
