पौर्णमास्यां सिनीवाल्यां द्वादश्यां श्रवणेऽथवा । दिनक्षये व्यतीपाते सङ्क्रमेऽर्कदिनेऽपि वा ।। ४-१२-४९ ।।

Persons who have completely taken shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord should recite this narration of Dhruva Mahārāja without taking remuneration. Specifically, recitation is recommended on the full-moon or dark-moon day, on the day after Ekādaśī, on the appearance of the Śravaṇa star, at the end of a particular tithi, or the occasion of Vyatīpāta, at the end of the month, or on Sunday. ।। 4-12-49 ।।

english translation

जिन व्यक्तियों ने भगवान् के चरण-कमलों की शरण ले रखी है उन्हें किसी प्रकार का पारिश्रमिक लिये बिना ही ध्रुव महाराज के इस आख्यान को सुनाना चाहिए। विशेष रूप से पूर्णमासी, अमावस्या, द्वादशी, श्रवण नक्षत्र के प्रकट होने पर, तिथिक्षय पर या व्यतीपात के अवसर पर, मास के अन्त में या रविवार को यह आख्यान सुनाया जाए। ।। ४-१२-४९ ।।
