Srimad Bhagavatam
तासां स चतुरः शिष्यानुपाहूय महामतिः । एकैकां संहितां ब्रह्मन्नेकैकस्मै ददौ विभुः ॥ १२-६-५१ ॥
The most powerful and intelligent Vyāsadeva called four of his disciples, O brāhmaṇa, and entrusted to each of them one of these four saṁhitās. ॥ 12-6-51 ॥
english translation
सबसे शक्तिशाली और बुद्धिमान व्यासदेव ने अपने चार शिष्यों को बुलाया, हे ब्राह्मण, और उनमें से प्रत्येक को इन चार संहिताओं में से एक सौंपी। ॥ १२-६-५१ ॥
