शृणोति य इमं स्फोटं सुप्तश्रोत्रे च शून्यदृक् । येन वाग्व्यज्यते यस्य व्यक्तिराकाश आत्मनः ॥ १२-६-४० ॥
This oṁkāra, ultimately nonmaterial and imperceptible, is heard by the Supersoul without His possessing material ears or any other material senses. The entire expanse of Vedic sound is elaborated from oṁkāra, which appears from the soul, within the sky of the heart. ॥ 12-6-40 ॥

यह ओंकार, अंततः अभौतिक और अगोचर, परमात्मा द्वारा अपने भौतिक कानों या किसी अन्य भौतिक इंद्रियों के बिना सुना जाता है। वैदिक ध्वनि का संपूर्ण विस्तार ओंकार से विस्तृत है, जो हृदय के आकाश के भीतर आत्मा से प्रकट होता है। ॥ १२-६-४० ॥
