सत्यं ह्यवयवः प्रोक्तः सर्वावयविनामिह । विनार्थेन प्रतीयेरन् पटस्येवाङ्ग तन्तवः ।। १२-४-२७ ।।

My dear King, it is stated [in the Vedānta-sūtra] that the ingredient cause that constitutes any manifested product in this universe can be perceived as a separate reality, just as the threads that make up a cloth can be perceived separately from their product. ।। 12-4-27 ।।

english translation

मेरे प्रिय राजा, यह कहा गया है [वेदांत-सूत्र में] कि इस ब्रह्मांड में किसी भी प्रकट उत्पाद का निर्माण करने वाले घटक कारण को एक अलग वास्तविकता के रूप में माना जा सकता है, जैसे कि कपड़े बनाने वाले धागे को उनके उत्पाद से अलग माना जा सकता है । ।। १२-४-२७ ।।
