निवृत्तं कर्म सेवेत प्रवृत्तं मत्परस्त्यजेत् । जिज्ञासायां सम्प्रवृत्तो नाद्रियेत्कर्मचोदनाम् ।। ११-१०-४ ।।

One who has fixed Me within his mind as the goal of life should give up activities based on sense gratification and should instead execute work governed by the regulative principles for advancement. When, however, one is fully engaged in searching out the ultimate truth of the soul, one should not accept the scriptural injunctions governing fruitive activities. ।। 11-10-4 ।।

english translation

जिसने जीवन के लक्ष्य के रूप में मुझे अपने मन में स्थापित कर लिया है, उसे इंद्रिय संतुष्टि पर आधारित गतिविधियों को छोड़ देना चाहिए और इसके बजाय उन्नति के लिए नियामक सिद्धांतों द्वारा शासित कार्य करना चाहिए। हालाँकि, जब कोई व्यक्ति आत्मा के अंतिम सत्य की खोज में पूरी तरह से लगा हुआ है, तो उसे सकाम गतिविधियों को नियंत्रित करने वाले शास्त्रीय आदेशों को स्वीकार नहीं करना चाहिए। ।। ११-१०-४ ।।
