श्रीभीष्म उवाच इति मतिरुपकल्पिता वितृष्णाभगवति सात्वतपुङ्गवे विभूम्नि । स्वसुखमुपगते क्वचिद्विहर्तुंप्रकृतिमुपेयुषि यद्भवप्रवाहः ॥ १-९-३२ ॥
Bhīṣmadeva said: Let me now invest my thinking, feeling and willing, which were so long engaged in different subjects and occupational duties, in the all-powerful Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. He is always self-satisfied, but sometimes, being the leader of the devotees, He enjoys transcendental pleasure by descending to the material world, although from Him only the material world is created. ॥ 1-9-32 ॥
english translation
भीष्मदेव ने कहा : अभी तक मैं जो सोचता, जो अनुभव करता तथा जो चाहता था, वह विभिन्न विषयों तथा वृत्तियों के अधीन था, किन्तु अब मुझे उसे परम शक्तिमान भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण में लगाने दो। वे सदैव आत्मतुष्ट रहनेवाले हैं, किन्तु कभी-कभी भक्तों के नायक होने के कारण, इस भौतिक जगत में अवतरित होकर दिव्य आनन्द-लाभ करते हैं, यद्यपि यह सारा भौतिक जगत उन्हीं के द्वारा सृजित है। ॥ १-९-३२ ॥
