तस्मादिदं दैवतन्त्रं व्यवस्य भरतर्षभ । तस्यानुविहितोऽनाथा नाथ पाहि प्रजाः प्रभो ।। १-९-१७ ।।

sanskrit

O best among the descendants of Bharata [Yudhiṣṭhira], I maintain, therefore, that all this is within the plan of the Lord. Accepting the inconceivable plan of the Lord, you must follow it. You are now the appointed administrative head, and, my lord, you should now take care of those subjects who are now rendered helpless. ।। 1-9-17 ।।

english translation

अतएव हे भरतवंश में श्रेष्ठ (युधिष्ठिर), मैं मानता हूँ कि यह सब भगवान् की योजना के अन्तर्गत है। तुम भगवान् की अचिन्त्य योजना को स्वीकार करो और उसका पालन करो। अब तुम नियुक्त किए गये शासनाध्यक्ष हो, अतएव हे महाराज, आपको अब उन लोगों की देखभाल करनी चाहिए जो असहाय हो चुके हैं। ।। १-९-१७ ।।
