सूत उवाच अर्जुनः सहसाऽऽज्ञाय हरेर्हार्दमथासिना । मणिं जहार मूर्धन्यं द्विजस्य सहमूर्धजम् ॥ १-७-५५ ॥
Sūta Gosvāmī said: Just then Arjuna could understand the motive of the Lord by His equivocal orders, and thus with his sword he severed both hair and jewel from the head of Aśvatthāmā. ॥ 1-7-55 ॥
english translation
उसी समय अर्जुन भगवान् की अनेकाधिक आज्ञा का प्रयोजन समझ गया और इस तरह उसने अपनी तलवार से अश्वत्थामा के सिर से केश तथा मणि दोनों पृथक् कर दिये। ॥ १-७-५५ ॥
