किमिदं स्वित्कुतो वेति देवदेव न वेद्म्यहम् । सर्वतोमुखमायाति तेजः परमदारुणम् ॥ १-७-२६ ॥
O Lord of lords, how is it that this dangerous effulgence is spreading all around? Where does it come from? I do not understand it. ॥ 1-7-26 ॥

हे देवाधिदेव, चारों ओर फैलने वाला यह घातक तेज कैसा है? यह कहाँ से आ रहा है? मैं इसे समझ नहीं पा रहा हूँ। ॥ १-७-२६ ॥

श्रीभगवानुवाच वेत्थेदं द्रोणपुत्रस्य ब्राह्ममस्त्रं प्रदर्शितम् । नैवासौ वेद संहारं प्राणबाध उपस्थिते ॥ १-७-२७ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Know from Me that this is the act of the son of Droṇa. He has thrown the hymns of nuclear energy [brahmāstra], and he does not know how to retract the glare. He has helplessly done this, being afraid of imminent death. ॥ 1-7-27 ॥

पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् ने कहा : तुम मुझ से यह जान लो कि यह द्रोण के पुत्र का कार्य है। उसने आणविक शक्ति के मंत्र (ब्रह्मास्त्र) का प्रहार किया है और वह यह नहीं जानता कि उसकी चौंधको कैसे लौटाया जाय। उसने निरुपाय होकर आसन्न मृत्यु के भय से ऐसा किया है। ॥ १-७-२७ ॥

न ह्यस्यान्यतमं किञ्चिदस्त्रं प्रत्यवकर्शनम् । जह्यस्त्रतेज उन्नद्धमस्त्रज्ञो ह्यस्त्रतेजसा ॥ १-७-२८ ॥
O Arjuna, only another brahmāstra can counteract this weapon. Since you are expert in the military science, subdue this weapon’s glare with the power of your own weapon. ॥ 1-7-28 ॥

हे अर्जुन, केवल दूसरा ब्रह्मास्त्र ही इस अस्त्र को निरस्त कर सकता है। चूँकि तुम सैन्य विज्ञान में अत्यन्त पटु हो, अतएव अपने अस्त्र की शक्ति से इस अस्त्र के तेज का शमन करो। ॥ १-७-२८ ॥

सूत उवाच श्रुत्वा भगवता प्रोक्तं फाल्गुनः परवीरहा । स्पृष्ट्वापस्तं परिक्रम्य ब्राह्मं ब्राह्माय सन्दधे ॥ १-७-२९ ॥
Śrī Sūta Gosvāmī said: Hearing this from the Personality of Godhead, Arjuna touched water for purification, and after circumambulating Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, he cast his brahmāstra weapon to counteract the other one. ॥ 1-7-29 ॥

श्री सूत गोस्वामी ने कहा : भगवान् से यह सुनकर अर्जुन ने शुद्धि के लिए जल का स्पर्श किया और भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण की परिक्रमा करके, उस अस्त्र को प्रशमित करने के लिए उसने अपना ब्रह्मास्त्र छोड़ा। ॥ १-७-२९ ॥

संहत्यान्योन्यमुभयोस्तेजसी शरसंवृते । आवृत्य रोदसी खं च ववृधातेऽर्कवह्निवत् ॥ १-७-३० ॥
When the rays of the two brahmāstras combined, a great circle of fire, like the disc of the sun, covered all outer space and the whole firmament of planets. ॥ 1-7-30 ॥
english translation
जब दोनों ब्रह्मास्त्रों की किरणें मिल गईं, तो सूर्य के गोले के समान अग्नि के एक वृहत च्रक ने समस्त बाह्य अन्तरिक्ष तथा लोकों के सम्पूर्ण गगनमण्डल को आवृत्त कर लिया। ॥ १-७-३० ॥
