त्वं वा मृणालधवलः पादैर्न्यूनः पदा चरन् । वृषरूपेण किं कश्चिद्देवो नः परिखेदयन् ॥ १-१७-७ ॥
Then he [Mahārāja Parīkṣit] asked the bull: Oh, who are you? Are you a bull as white as a white lotus, or are you a demigod? You have lost three of your legs and are moving on only one. Are you some demigod causing us grief in the form of a bull? ॥ 1-17-7 ॥

तब उन्होंने (महाराज परीक्षित ने) बैल से पूछा: अरे, तुम कौन हो? तुम श्वेत कमल जैसे धवल बैल हो या कोई देवता हो? तुम अपने तीन पैर खो चुके हो और केवल एक पैर पर चल रहे हो। क्या तुम बैल के रूप में कोई देवता हो, जो हमें इस तरह क्लेश पहुँचा रहे हो? ॥ १-१७-७ ॥
