यत्सन्निधावहमु खाण्डवमग्नयेऽदामिन्द्रं च सामरगणं तरसा विजित्य । लब्धा सभा मयकृताद्भुतशिल्पमायादिग्भ्योऽहरन् नृपतयो बलिमध्वरे ते ।। १-१५-८ ।।

Because He was near me, it was possible for me to conquer with great dexterity the powerful King of heaven, Indradeva, along with his demigod associates and thus enable the fire-god to devastate the Khāṇḍava Forest. And only by His grace was the demon named Maya saved from the blazing Khāṇḍava Forest, and thus we could build our assembly house of wonderful architectural workmanship, where all the princes assembled during the performance of Rājasūya-yajña and paid you tributes. ।। 1-15-8 ।।

english translation

चूँकि वे मेरे निकट थे, अतएव मेरे लिए अत्यन्त कौशलपूर्वक स्वर्ग के शक्तिशाली राजा इन्द्रदेव को उनके देव-पार्षदों सहित जीत पाना सम्भव हो सका और इस तरह अग्निदेव खाण्डव वन को विनष्ट कर सके। उन्हीं की कृपा से, मय नामक असुर को जलते हुए खाण्डव वन से बचाया जा सका। इस तरह हम अत्यन्त आश्चर्यमयी शिल्प-कला वाले सभाभवन का निर्माण कर सके, जहाँ राजसूय-यज्ञ के समय सारे राजकुमार एकत्र हो सके और आपको आदर प्रदान कर सके। ।। १-१५-८ ।।
