अनवेक्षमाणो निरगादश‍ृण्वन् बधिरो यथा । उदीचीं प्रविवेशाशां गतपूर्वां महात्मभिः । हृदि ब्रह्म परं ध्यायन् नावर्तेत यतो गतः ।। १-१५-४४ ।।

sanskrit

He did not depend on his brothers for anything. And, just like a deaf man, he heard nothing. He then started towards the north, treading the path accepted by his forefathers and great men, to devote himself completely to the thought of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And he lived in that way wherever he went. ।। 1-15-44 ।।

english translation

वे किसी वस्तु के लिए अपने भाइयों पर आश्रित नहीं रहे। वे बहरे मनुष्य की तरह कुछ भी न सुनने लगे। तब उन्होंने उत्तर दिशा की ओर अपने पूर्वजों तथा महापुरुषों द्वारा स्वीकृत पथ पर चलते हुए प्रस्थान किया, जिससे वे परमेश्वर के विचार में पूर्ण रूप से लग सकें। वे जहाँ कहीं भी गये, इसी तरह रहे। ।। १-१५-४४ ।।

anavekSamANo niragAdaza‍RNvan badhiro yathA | udIcIM pravivezAzAM gatapUrvAM mahAtmabhiH | hRdi brahma paraM dhyAyan nAvarteta yato gataH || 1-15-44 ||
