उद्दामभावपिशुनामलवल्गुहासव्रीडावलोकनिहतो मदनोऽपि यासाम् । सम्मुह्य तापमजहात्प्रमदोत्तमास्तायस्येन्द्रियं विमथितुं कुहकैर्न शेकुः ।। १-११-३६ ।।

Although the queens’ beautiful smiles and furtive glances were all spotless and exciting, and although they could conquer Cupid himself by making him give up his bow in frustration, and although even the tolerant Śiva could fall victim to them, still, despite all their magical feats and attractions, they could not agitate the senses of the Lord. ।। 1-11-36 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि रानियों की मृदु मुस्कानें तथा बाँकी चितवनें अत्यन्त विमल तथा उत्तेजक थीं, जिससे साक्षात् कामदेव भी मोहित होकर अपना धनुष त्यागने के लिए बाध्य हो सकते थे, यहाँ तक कि अत्यन्त सहिष्णु शिवजी भी उनके शिकार हो सकते थे, तो भी, वे अपने समस्त हाव-भाव तथा आकर्षण से भगवान् की इन्द्रियों को विचलित नहीं कर सकीं। ।। १-११-३६ ।।

uddAmabhAvapizunAmalavalguhAsavrIDAvalokanihato madano'pi yAsAm | sammuhya tApamajahAtpramadottamAstAyasyendriyaM vimathituM kuhakairna zekuH || 1-11-36 ||

तमयं मन्यते लोको ह्यसङ्गमपि सङ्गिनम् । आत्मौपम्येन मनुजं व्यापृण्वानं यतोऽबुधः ।। १-११-३७ ।।

The common materialistic conditioned souls speculate that the Lord is one of them. Out of their ignorance they think that the Lord is affected by matter, although He is unattached. ।। 1-11-37 ।।

english translation

सामान्य भौतिकतावादी बद्धजीव सोचते रहते हैं कि भगवान् उन्हीं में से एक हैं। अपने अज्ञान के कारण वे सोचते हैं कि पदार्थ का भगवान् पर प्रभाव पड़ता है, भले ही वे अनासक्त रहते हैं। ।। १-११-३७ ।।

tamayaM manyate loko hyasaGgamapi saGginam | Atmaupamyena manujaM vyApRNvAnaM yato'budhaH || 1-11-37 ||

एतदीशनमीशस्य प्रकृतिस्थोऽपि तद्गुणैः । न युज्यते सदाऽऽत्मस्थैर्यथा ।। १-११-३८ ।।

This is the divinity of the Personality of Godhead: He is not affected by the qualities of material nature, even though He is in contact with them. Similarly, the devotees who have taken shelter of the Lord do not become influenced by the material qualities. ।। 1-11-38 ।।

english translation

यह तो भगवान् की अलौकिकता है कि वे भौतिक प्रकृति के गुणों के संसर्ग में रहते हुए भी उनसे प्रभावित नहीं होते। इसी प्रकार जिन भक्तों ने भगवान् की शरण ग्रहण कर ली है, वे भी भौतिक गुणों से प्रभावित नहीं होते। ।। १-११-३८ ।।

तं मेनिरेऽबला मूढाः स्त्रैणं चानुव्रतं रहः । अप्रमाणविदो भर्तुरीश्वरं मतयो यथा ।। १-११-३९ ।।

The simple and delicate women truly thought that Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, their beloved husband, followed them and was dominated by them. They were unaware of the extent of the glories of their husband, as the atheists are unaware of Him as the supreme controller. ।। 1-11-39 ।।

english translation

वे सरल तथा सुकोमल स्त्रियाँ सचमुच ही सोच बैठीं कि उनके प्रिय पति, भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण, उनसे आकर्षिथ हैं और उनके वशीभूत हैं। वे अपने पति की महिमाओं से उसी तरह अनजान थीं, जिस प्रकार नास्तिक लोग परम नियन्ता के रूप में भगवान् से अनजान रहते हैं। ।। १-११-३९ ।।
