रेचकादिषु योभ्यासो नाडीशोधनपूर्वकः ॥ स्वेच्छोत्क्रमणपर्यंतः प्रोक्तो योगानुशासने ॥ २६ ॥
The practice of Recaka shall begin with the purification of the veins and conclude with its voluntary exit as mentioned in the Yogānuśāsana.
english translation
recakAdiSu yobhyAso nADIzodhanapUrvakaH ॥ svecchotkramaNaparyaMtaH prokto yogAnuzAsane ॥ 26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकन्यकादिक्रमवशात्प्राणायामनिरोधनम् ॥ तच्चतुर्धोपदिष्टं स्यान्मात्रागुणविभागतः ॥ २७ ॥
Prāṇāyāma is one of the four varieties in view of the time-units, Kanyaka etc.
english translation
kanyakAdikramavazAtprANAyAmanirodhanam ॥ taccaturdhopadiSTaM syAnmAtrAguNavibhAgataH ॥ 27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकन्यकस्तु चतुर्धा स्यात्स च द्वादशमात्रकः ॥ मध्यमस्तु द्विरुद्धातश्चतुर्विंशतिमात्रकः ॥ २८ ॥
Kanyaka is without Udghāta (strokes). Its duration is twelve Mātrās. Madhyama has two strokes, its duration is twenty-four Mātrās.
english translation
kanyakastu caturdhA syAtsa ca dvAdazamAtrakaH ॥ madhyamastu dviruddhAtazcaturviMzatimAtrakaH ॥ 28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउत्तमस्तु त्रिरुद्धातः षड्विंशन्मात्रकः परः ॥ स्वेदकंपादिजनकः प्राणायामस्तदुत्तरः ॥ २९ ॥
Uttama has three strokes and its duration is thirty-six Mātrās. Uttara is the Prāṇāyāma that causes perspiration and trembling of the body.

uttamastu triruddhAtaH SaDviMzanmAtrakaH paraH ॥ svedakaMpAdijanakaH prANAyAmastaduttaraH ॥ 29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआनंदोद्भवरोमांचनेत्राश्रूणां विमोचनम् ॥ जल्पभ्रमणमूर्छाद्यं जायते योगिनः परम् ॥ ३० ॥
The yogin has experiences—the thrill of bliss, horripilation and shedding of tears. He may prattle. There may be vertigo and senselessness.

AnaMdodbhavaromAMcanetrAzrUNAM vimocanam ॥ jalpabhramaNamUrchAdyaM jAyate yoginaH param ॥ 30 ॥
