सुवर्णवर्णमच्छिन्नं शुभं नान्यैर्धृतं शुभम् ॥ विप्रादीनां क्रमाच्छ्रेष्ठं पीतं रक्तमथासितम् ॥ ३६ ॥

The Rudrākṣa bead with the lustre of gold is excellent. It shall not be cut. What is not worn by others is the most auspicious. To the three castes the colours yellow, red and black are respectively excellent.

तदलाभे यथालाभं धारणीयमदूषितम् ॥ तत्रापि नोत्तरं नीचैर्धार्यं नीचमथोत्तरैः ॥ ३७ ॥

If the excellent bead is not available whatever is available shall be used for wearing. But it shall not be defective. The lower caste men shall not wear the bead intended for the higher caste. The higher caste men can wear the other types too.

नाशुचिर्धारयेदक्षं सदा कालेषु धारयेत् ॥ इत्थं त्रिसंध्यमथवा द्विसंध्यं सकृदेव वा ॥ ३८ ॥

Anyone who is unclean should not wear the axle, but should always wear it at the appropriate times. This is done for three or two evenings or once.

कृत्वा स्नानादिकं शक्त्या पूजयेत्परमेश्वरम् ॥ प्रजास्थानं समासाद्य बद्ध्वा रुचिरमासनम् ॥ ३९ ॥

After performing the rituals of bathing and other rituals, one should worship the Supreme Lord according to one’s ability. He reached the place of the people and tied up a beautiful seat.

ध्यायेद्देवं च देवीं च प्राङ्मुखो वाप्युदङ्मुखः ॥ श्वेतादीन्नकुलीशांतांस्तच्छिष्यान्प्रणमेद्गुरुम् ॥ ४० ॥

He shall face the east or the north while meditating on the lord and the goddess. He shall worship the preceptor and the disciples from Śveta to Nakuliśa.
