अथ तस्मै गुरुर्दद्याद्राजोपकरणान्यपि ॥ आचार्यपदवीं प्राप्तो राज्यं चापि यतो ऽर्हति ॥ १६ ॥
The preceptor shall give him royal paraphernalia since one who has attained the status of Ācārya deserves even a kingdom.
english translation
atha tasmai gururdadyAdrAjopakaraNAnyapi ॥ AcAryapadavIM prApto rAjyaM cApi yato 'rhati ॥ 16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथानुशासनं कुर्यात्पूर्वैराचरितं यथा ॥ यथा च शिवशास्त्रोक्तं यथा लोकेषु पूज्यते ॥ १७ ॥
Then he shall impart to him the modes of discipline followed by elders as mentioned in Śaivite sacred literature and as honoured amongst the people.
english translation
athAnuzAsanaM kuryAtpUrvairAcaritaM yathA ॥ yathA ca zivazAstroktaM yathA lokeSu pUjyate ॥ 17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिष्यान्परिक्ष्य यत्नेन शिवशास्त्रोक्तलक्षणैः ॥ संस्कृत्य च शिवज्ञानं तेभ्यो दद्याच्च देशिकः ॥ १८ ॥
The preceptor shall test the disciples assiduously through the characteristics mentioned in Śaivite scriptures. He shall consecrate them and impart to them the Śaivite knowledge.
english translation
ziSyAnparikSya yatnena zivazAstroktalakSaNaiH ॥ saMskRtya ca zivajJAnaM tebhyo dadyAcca dezikaH ॥ 18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं सर्वमनायासं शौचं क्षांतिं दयां तथा ॥ अस्पृहामप्यसूयां च यत्नेन च विभावयेत् ॥ १९ ॥
He shall infuse in him all these qualities without difficulty, viz. purity, forbearance, mercifulness, non-covetousness and absence of jealousy even strenuously.
english translation
evaM sarvamanAyAsaM zaucaM kSAMtiM dayAM tathA ॥ aspRhAmapyasUyAM ca yatnena ca vibhAvayet ॥ 19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्थमादिश्य तं शिष्यं शिवमुद्वास्य मंडलात् ॥ शिवकुंभानलादींश्च सदस्यानपि पूजयेत् ॥ २० ॥
After thus urging the disciple he shall ritualistically dismiss Śiva from the Maṇḍala. He shall worship the Śivakumbha, fire and others who had been invited there.
english translation
itthamAdizya taM ziSyaM zivamudvAsya maMDalAt ॥ zivakuMbhAnalAdIMzca sadasyAnapi pUjayet ॥ 20 ॥
