उपमन्युरुवाच ॥ अथैवं संस्कृतं शिष्यं कृतपाशुपतव्रतम् ॥ आचार्यत्वे ऽभिषिंचेत तद्योगत्वेन चान्यथा ॥ १ ॥
Upamanyu said:— The preceptor shall crown consecrated disciple as a preceptor after he has performed íhe Pāśupata rite if he has the requisite qualities and not otherwise.
english translation
upamanyuruvAca ॥ athaivaM saMskRtaM ziSyaM kRtapAzupatavratam ॥ AcAryatve 'bhiSiMceta tadyogatvena cAnyathA ॥ 1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमण्डलं पूर्ववत्कृत्त्वा संपूज्य परमेश्वरम् ॥ स्थापयत्पञ्चकलशान्दिक्षु मध्ये च पूर्ववत् ॥ २ ॥
The Maṇḍala shall be made as before and after worshipping the lord he shall, as before, place five water-jars one in each of the four quarters and one in the middle.
english translation
maNDalaM pUrvavatkRttvA saMpUjya paramezvaram ॥ sthApayatpaJcakalazAndikSu madhye ca pUrvavat ॥ 2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिवृत्तिं पुरतो न्यस्य प्रतिष्ठां पश्चिमे घटे ॥ विद्यां दक्षिणतः शांतिमुत्तरे मध्यतः पराम् ॥ ३ ॥
Nivṛtti Kalā shall be installed in the vessel in the east, Pratiṣṭhā Kalā in the vessel in the west; Vidyā Kalā in the south. Śānti Kalā in the north and the Parā Kalā in the middle.

nivRttiM purato nyasya pratiSThAM pazcime ghaTe ॥ vidyAM dakSiNataH zAMtimuttare madhyataH parAm ॥ 3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृत्वा रक्षादिकं तत्र बद्ध्वा मुद्रां च धैनवीम् ॥ अभिमंत्र्य घटान्हुत्वा पूर्णांतं च यथा पुरा ॥ ४ ॥
The following rites shall be performed as before, viz. those of Rakṣā, the Mudrābandha or the gesture of the cow, repetition of mantra over the vessels and the homa till the Pūrṇāhuti.

kRtvA rakSAdikaM tatra baddhvA mudrAM ca dhainavIm ॥ abhimaMtrya ghaTAnhutvA pUrNAMtaM ca yathA purA ॥ 4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रवेश्य मंडले शिष्यमनुष्णीषं च देशिकः ॥ तर्पणाद्यं तु मंत्राणां कुर्यात्पूर्वावसानकम् ॥ ५ ॥
The preceptor shall make the disciple enter the Maṇḍala. He shall not wear the head-dress. The Tarpaṇa and other rites too shall be performed as before.

pravezya maMDale ziSyamanuSNISaM ca dezikaH ॥ tarpaNAdyaM tu maMtrANAM kuryAtpUrvAvasAnakam ॥ 5 ॥
