Shiva Purana
आचार्यात्पादमर्धं वा होमस्तेषां विधीयते ॥ प्रधानकुण्ड एवाथ जुहुयाद्देशिकोत्तमः ॥ २३ ॥
The excellent preceptor shall perform the sacrifice only in the main pit. The number of sacrifices made by the others is half or one fourth of those of the chief priest.
english translation
AcAryAtpAdamardhaM vA homasteSAM vidhIyate ॥ pradhAnakuNDa evAtha juhuyAddezikottamaH ॥ 23 ॥
